South Dakota gets such a bad reputation...but out here on the western side of the state it's beautiful!! My parents live right on the northeastern edge of the Black Hills. When hunting for our Christmas tree, we took a few stops through Spearfish Canyon and took some pictures. In the Canyon there isn't much wind, so when it snows it stays in big clumps on the pine trees--love it.
